NexusPark is jointly owned by the City of Columbus and Columbus Regional Health. Each entity has its own source of funding to pay for the development of the facility.

Yes. It is the goal of the City and CRH to maintain a “walking path” – even during construction. Walkers may be re-routed at times so we ask that you pay attention to any signs for safety purposes. Walking hours are from 6 am – 7 pm Monday – Saturday, and 6 am – 5 pm Sunday.

The City of Columbus and Columbus Regional Health are working with a leasing agent on selecting and recruiting restaurants and retail for the facility.

Based on current schedules, the Parks Administrative spaces will be open in the fall of 2023 and the Indoor Fieldhouse is scheduled to be completed in late 2023. The first Columbus Regional Health practice is planned to open in late 2023.

Many people believe NexusPark is strictly a sports complex. The Fieldhouse, which is one component of NexusPark, is a sports and events venue that will host a multitude of different types of sporting and non-sporting events. While it will be host to many local, regional, and state sports tournaments, we also hope that it will become known as a venue fit to host trade shows, conferences, graduations, and large-scale community events.

In addition to the fieldhouse, the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department will have a fitness area, conference rooms, multi-purpose rooms for youth and adult programming and activities (such as table tennis, Pickleball, art classes, e-sports, and more), plus complementary retail partners, and restaurants, and a new three-acre park plaza.

Columbus Regional Health will complement the facility with a variety of health and wellness-related services that individuals can access conveniently.

Columbus Regional Health will relocate about 14 primary and specialty care provider offices, and comprehensive wrap-around services, such as WellConnect, Laboratory Services, Physical and Occupational Therapies and Healthy Communities. The first practice, OBGYN Associates, will relocate in late October of 2023 with others transitioning throughout the first quarter of 2024. The NexusPark facility common areas will be open to the general public for access and use. There are areas managed by both Columbus Parks and Recreation Department and Columbus Regional Health that will be access-controlled, and therefore require appointments, rental agreements, memberships, and/or registrations for use.  As more details are finalized, we will post the updates on the website.

Interior renovations are being completed with final touches to flooring, paint and furniture in the works. The first practice to relocate to the space will be OBGYN Associates, which will open to patients on Oct. 23, 2024. The remaining practices and services will be phased in beginning in January of 2024 and continuing through the first quarter.

Interior demolition is anticipated to be complete late spring/ early summer.

Current expected timeline for the construction completion and subsequent CRH occupancy is targeting for Q4 of 2023. Of course, this process is contingent upon procurement of materials and resources as availability and lead times continue to shift within the market.
