The Story So Far
In 2018, Columbus Regional Health and the City of Columbus began the process to purchase the Fair Oaks Mall with the vision to transform the mall into NexusPark, a community sport, recreation, and wellness space that would maximize the use of the space and bring about economic opportunities for the region.
The sale of the former Fair Oaks Mall was finalized on December 15, 2018 by the City of Columbus, Columbus Regional Health and the Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County for $5.9 million. The City of Columbus is the majority partner, with a 75% ownership of the property. Columbus Regional Health owns a 25% share of the property. The City of Columbus, Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, and Columbus Regional Health will be transforming the facility into a community sport, recreation, and wellness space.
